GROWING IN THE SPIRIT (Part 2)

PSALM 119:9-24

BUILDING A RELATIONSHIP WITH THE WORD OF GOD (A)

To meditate is to mutter; a deep thought upon.

“ I have more understanding than all my Teachers for Thy testimonies are my meditation.” (Psalm 119:99).

This was a testimony of David who became a Prophet through his meditations on The Word of God. (Ps 16:8-10) / (Act 2:25-28)

His word is His Power to work.

The Word of God revealed God.

God is The Word. (Jn 1:1-3/14) which was revealed in Christ.

To have a relationship with The Word of God, you must agree with The Word as the authentic Truth (Jn 6:63)

Nothing can negate His Word,

David was a great man who meditated only on the TORAH, that is the law by limitations of all that was available then, and through him other revelations about God came from his testimonies of God (A large part of The Psalms).

He found out that “The law shall not depart out of thy mouth, but thou shalt observe to do according to all that is written there in, through which thou shall make thy way prosperous and thou shall have good success”

This was David’s discovery and in His meditations turned the revelations into songs he wrote in the Psalms which was an added advantage to the children of The Kingdom today.

We must relate with the word of God in trust and total dependence.

It must be received, belived and trusted, because, it is impossible for God to lie.(Num 23:19 I Sam 15:29 Titus 1:2 Heb 6:18).

God also ascertained His Words by two or three witnesses saying “……At the mouth of two witnesses or at the mouth of three witnesses, shall the matter be established,.”

This makes an authentic reasoning and cross reference to establish faith and trust in God’s Word.

Through a precedent.

Jesus revealed to us The Word as by it the world was formed. (Gen 1:2-18, 2peter 3:5)

King David in Psalm 1:2 saith “But his delight is to meditate day and night” ….. The meditations brings forth the revelations of the mysteries. (see Psalms 119vs 154, Psalms 23,48,78,148)

If David with the limited revelations can get to the heart of God: I think we can do better. Jesus remarked in Luke 7:28 “for I say unto you, among those that are born of women, there is not a greater Prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the Kingdom of God is greater than John”

We are of the kingdom we are greater than David and John.

We have more revelations of The Word of God than all the old testament Prophets.

We have The Holy Spirit living in us. God is expanding His word by revelations.

The capacity of The Word of God in you determines the revelations of Godly mysteries.

..to be….contd…..
