THE SPRING TIME Part 1
Psalm 147, Gen 8:20-22
And Noah builded an altar unto The Lord, and took of every clean beasts and of every clean fowls and offered burnt offerings on the altar; and The Lord smelled a sweet savour… (And made a covenant) while the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, day and night, shall not cease” (Gen 8:20-22).
So as in Psalm 50:4 He saith “Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice”.
The miracle of spring does not just happen. Behind it are months of patient preparations and waiting. The reward, the effect seems to burst upon the world suddenly.
Beloved, for one to enjoy Divine Abundance without laboring for it, is self deceit. I am not bothered by anybody’s reaction to this write up, but a Biblical fact that rests upon the truth of His word and which is applicable unto all men weather Jews or Gentile.
We need the spring-with a deep need that bites down into mans soul. This need is first of all materials; it is the time of rebirths of plants, the forerunner of the harvest and man needs food for his body. “For the rains cometh down, and the snow from heaven and returneth not thither, but watereth the earth, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower and bread to the eater. “(Isa 55:10)
However, “man shall not live by bread alone” (Matt 4:4A) become truer the longer we live, for more and more mental and spiritual values must be taken into consideration in the life of every individual.
When the scriptures says “The poor shall not cease on earth” does not say you must be poor. The universe is governed by the laws of “sowing and reaping”. The scripture in Gal 6:7 says “be not deceived, God is not mocked, for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap”.
The need for a prosperous life through the Divine Abundance in many people is unawakened, for they cannot spiritually discern especially in these austere and economic recessions, when everywhere appears starved. The mind grows apathetic, when surrounded by uninspiring value for money or returns on investments.
However dark the economic horizon, the spring comes naturally unabated. We might have waited for it for so long, it seems to burst upon us suddenly, taking us surprisingly, leaving us breathless at the trees and everywhere, the young fresh green of leaves and delicate colors of primrose and bluebell, burst forth from the earth like a flame. The countryside suddenly seems to be touched by the sunlight of a vivid, living green.
Psalm 126:5-6 saith “They that sow in tears, shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth weeping, bearing the precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him”. This is a lesson for life as the Psalmist says “Weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning”. (Psalm 30:5).
The scriptural passage shows the figure of a discouraged man who has had crop failures to the point of despair, but who sows again in tears and prayers, for no more failure. He sows the only seed that he has and God hears him and give him an abundant increase. The sowing can be applied to every facet of life; In service to God and man, in faithfulness; In prayers and fastings, at a time of importunity seeking Gods face earnestly, Also it is a time to act Gods purpose on earth, but not seeing yourself as God; A time to sow the Gospel and to reap souls for Christ kingdom, because when The Word of God is sown, it will produce results as God intended. A time to sow into the gospel our resources, for its propagation; and a time to meet the needs of widows, orphans and the poor alike, from what God has bestowed into your bosoms.
Deut 8:18 says “But thou shalt remember The Lord thy God: for it is He that giveth thee power to get wealth” and Christ warned us in Luke 12:15 saying “Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a mans life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he posseseth” Therefore you need to load your cloud for a showers of blessings at the spring time for a bountiful harvest of Divine Abundance.
