YOUR CHARACTER COUNTS (PART 7)

Romans 13:1-7

COURTESY AND HEALTH

Courtesy had been defined as politeness, respect and consideration for others. Proverbs 22:4 says “By humility and the fear of The Lord, are riches and honour and life”. .
But this will be achieved by the transformation and the renewal of the mind. (Romans 12:2 )
The outward look and actions of men are the product of the mind; often referred as the heart.
A large or generous heart has a great capacity to absorb other peoples troubles, and challenges, has a solid shock absorber and at every time he is able to positively affect others, he is satisfied and happy.
Good health is a product of the mind/heart of a man, functioning unto maximum capacity; producing happiness of the mind.
Happiness not in possessions nor achievements but the state of the mind.
Spring clean your mind and your mental machinery of haughtiness, timidity worry, anxiety and fear. Imbibe the spirit of cheerfulness, optimism, compassion, love, peace and joy (Galatians 5:22).
Beloved, It is not how long you lived but how well, and what legacy you are leaving for the future generations.
Whatever we do today shall become history; in effect you can today change the cause of history because, it is very beneficial to your health.
Do you know that courtesy can change your looks because you will be cheerful all the time, driving away the bad moods.
A courteous woman will look good and attractive, in appearance, a pleasant face that is appreciated by everyone you come into contact with.
There is this discovery that a worried mind causes indigestion; you need to understand that cheerfulness even in the time of adversity can change the tide.
Ecclesiastes 8:1 says “who is the wise man? and who knows the interpretation of a thing? a man’s wisdom maketh his face to shine and the boldness of his face shall be changed”.
The Scriptures says “Pure religion and undefiled before God; and The Father, is this; to visit the fatherless, and widows in their affliction and to keep himself unspotted from the world” (James 1:27)
Finally there is no virtue in being good, where no temptation exists; nor is there credit or value in courtesy extended when you are pleased.
It is courtesy which proves the underlying self control?, Which illustrates our belief in the necessity of politeness.
Let us show courtesy even when we are tired, nervous, worried and utterly weary.
Let us remember “I shall pass this way but once … “
Therefore… “Any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now.”
Do not neglect or defer it, for you shall not pass this way again”.
