THE CHURCH TODAY NEEDS SPIRITUAL MOBILISATION (Part 3)

…..Beloved, Where,then can Men and Women look for guidance, for counselling, for leadership and for invigorating Gospel, that can transmute human existence? Only in The Church of Christ.

Whatever the defects of The Church today, it is the organisation that is at fault; the ideals of Christianity are still the means to enable, The Family, Community, and The Nation, make possible the life victorious for the individual man,to be at peace with God and self.

It is not CHRISTIANITY that has failed, but CHURCHIANITY (The unbelieving Church goers).

Christianity and Churchianity are vastly different, in fact, they are poles apart; this is the reason why the closures of The Churches cannot defeat Christianity.

Jesus Christ our Lord had strongly laid The Foundation of The Church on The Solid Rock. “For other foundation can no man lay,than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.”( 1Cor 3:11).

“And are built upon the foundations of The Apostles and Prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being The Chief corner stone “(Eph2:20).

” I will build my Church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it”(Matt 16:18).

Therefore, whatever legislation in force now or in time to come from the pit of hell, cannot prevail against The Church of Christ.

The Scriptures established ahead of time in Rom11:5 “Even so at this present time also, there is a remnant,according to the election of grace”. Those who will at all time, worship and serve Him, not for material things.

I want us to go back in history, down the memory lane, from history.

In the year 1839, The Sultan of Turkey promulgated a decree that no representative of The Christian Religion should remain in his empire.(Turkey)

Hearing of this, Dr William, an American Missionary to Turkey at that time, returned home to his friend and colleague, Dr Cyrus Hamlin, ( He was the first President of Roberts College, Constantinople), with the sad news.

In his expression, he said ” it is all over for us here, we have to leave for our respective Nations,for we are Christians “

But in response, The American Consul, and The British Ambassador, both replied in faith, “it is of no use to meet this with antagonism, this violent, vindictive and religious bigot Monarch” and to this Dr Hamlin replied;

“The Sultan of The Universe (God) can, in answer to Prayers, change the decree of The Sultan of Turkey”.

They gave themselves to prayers and fastings, in accordance to The Scriptures in Matt 18:18-19 “….. Whatsoever ye bound on earth shall be bound in heaven…..If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of My Father, which is in heaven….”.

The next day, just twenty four hours later, The Sultan of Turkey died and the decree was never executed.

If that is very far, we have a near situation in Nigeria in June 1998, many of us who prayed then can remember. But today we are living in a leaderless generation.

The Scriptures in Daniel 4:17 said “….. The Most High, ruleth in The Kingdom of Men, and giveth it to whomsoever He will, and sitteth up over it, the basest of men”.

Nothing just happens, every situation that comes, must have been to the knowledge of God, but man has a duty or prerogative to play, because the devil, at all time is working against the will of God, so man must act by playing his part, either to accept or reject the situation.

To this effect, The Church must seek God, more than ever before, in agreement as Believers, at this trying time to defeat, kidnapping, and political slavery, the pandemic, which had eaten deep into our Beloved Country.

We must also pray for The Light of God to illuminate every darkness of war, ravaging the World.

We must pray for the healing of our Nation.(Spiritual, Economic and Phisical)

This is the time to hide under The Shadows of The Almighty.

This is the time to rededicate our lives as Believers and not Church goers..
