WAITING, SERVING TILL HE COMES
Biblical Text Matthew 25:14-30
Waiting till He comes is the preparedness of the Believers who The Lord had committed His divine assignment.
This is the interval between the Lord’s ascension and His final advent.
In Luke 19:13, the Noble Man/Master said, ” occupy till I come”.; meaning He had committed to everyone a measure of our capacity that can keep us busy in making profits for The Kingdom investment (gifts) He had given to everyone, according to the measure of faith.(ROM 12:3; 2 Cor 12:11).
From the beginning of The Scripture, we were introduced to God, who works and will not rest till He has concluded His purpose. ( Gen 2 :1-2)
No wonder our Lord Jesus Christ in John 5:17 saith ” My Father worketh hitherto and I work”, so also in John 9:4 He said
” I must work the work of Him that sent me……”.
In the outer framework, His parable of Matt 25:14-30 signifies the entrustment from the Noble Man (God) to His servants (Believers), the measure of talents according to their capabilities.
They are expected to trade with the talents and make profits. ( 1 Cor 12:7).
Jesus Christ our Lord came to show us the example of service and profitability. So He committed in John 20:21″. …..as The Father sent me, so send i you”.
A man’s energies , gifts, capacities are called talents, for the use of which he must render accounts.
In this context, an ability is pre supposed, in each case, prior to the distribution, and every opportunity brings with it, a sense of responsibility, so we must keep working, as long as our capabilities can avail us..
We must be faithful and smart in our divine assignment, not slothful, but followers of them, who through faith and patience inherit the promises. (,Heb 6:12)
In Luke 13:17 Jesus said ” occupy till I come”, meaning we should keep working and not leaving any stone unturned..
In Mark 16:20, The Scriptures said ” as the Apostles were working, God was working with them.”
The bottom line is to keep busy serving The Lord, according to the admonition of Apostle Paul to the Ephesians Elders in Acts 20:19,”serving The Lord with all humility of mind and with many tears and temptations…..”
We learnt here, that the commitment is not an easy one, but being propelled by our love for Him. (ROM 8:29)
Proverbs 8:34 saith” Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the post of my doors.”.
1 Corinthians 1:17 “So that ye come behind in no gifts, waiting for the coming of The Lord Jesus Christ”
2Thess 3:5 ” And The Lord direct your hearts into the love of God and into the patient waiting for Christ.”
David prayed in 1 Chronicles 29:18 ” Oh Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, our Fathers, keep this forever in the imaginations of the thoughts and hearts of thy people, and prepare their hearts unto Thee”.
Beloved, are you serving and awaiting His final advent?.
In Matthew 25:13 He saith, “watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein The Son of Man cometh.”
