GROWING IN THE SPIRIT (Part 1)

John 15:1-16

Beloved, Spiritual development is all about building and enlargement of our Spiritual capacity.

A process of climbing through rungs of the spiritual ladder.

You must understand that the revelations of the mysteries you are accorded is limited by your knowledge of the Word of God.

There must be an understanding of the Principles of the kingdom, not your title, as many today had refused to grow in the spiritual knowledge of God. (Ezekiel 47:3-5), ( 2Cor10:12).

Many measure themselves by the years of convertion or calling of God. It is not of age, nor numbers of Churches planted, but what God can find in you as a way of life and the volume of light you carry. (Prov. 4:18)

God will not empower, he who is not properly grounded in the process, else an abuse and misuse.

There is a price to pay and only the wise can endure the discipline.

(2 Cor. 6:4-7).

Jesus in Matt 16:19 says “and I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven……………….” The question now is how do you access the keys?

1. A RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD.

2 Cor. 6:18 says “I will be a Father unto you and ye shall be my Sons and Daughters”.

John 15:14 says “ ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you”.

John 15:15 says “……. he that abides in me, and I in him, the same bringeth much fruit: without me, ye can do nothing”.

A relationship is an agreement of two people, to work and walk together.

Amos. 3:3 says “can two walk together, except they be agreed”.

An agreement to walk and work together, as likely minds; in thoughts and pattern of life.

A relationship is not one sided; all parties are inclusive.

(A) RELATIONSHIP IN PERSONAL AND UNITED PRAYERS.

Christ showed an example of what a Believer must be, in John 20:21, He saith “peace be unto you as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you’’

“Matt 14:23 says “……..he went up unto a mountain apart to pray………. he was there alone”

Mark 1:35 says “……… he departed into a solitary place and there prayed” Luke 5:16 says “and He withdraw himself into the wilderness and prayed”

Mark 9:29 “ and He saith unto them “this kind can come forth by nothing but by prayer and fasting.”

Matt 6:6 Jesus said “ when thou Prayest: enter into thy closet and while thou shut your door, pray unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy father which seeth thee in secret shall reward thee openly”.

In personal prayers one can open his heart to God as a Father, Friend and Creator.

it depends on which end you are coming from through your knowledge of Him.

It must be a constant attitude, and possibly at a constant time to seek His face.

David in Psalm 55:17 says “evening, morning and at noon, will I pray and cry above,:and He shall hear my voice.

David went further in Psalm 119:164 “Seven times a day do I praise thee because of Thy righteous judgments”, meaning.

David appears before God ten times a day,; no wonder God attested of him a man after His heart (Acts 13:22, Psalm 89:20).

In prayers of agreement as Christ taught in Matt 18:19-20 “where two or three agree together in my name it shall be done for them of My Father”.

*Prayer is a communication between a man and his God; a time of impotunity to ask of The Father, who is generous to give.

Matt 7:11 says “if ye being evil know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask of Him?”.

So also In prayers of intercession for others as Abraham did for Lot in Gen. 18:22-32

Through prayers we can be appreciative of what God has done in the past; what He is doing in the present and what He will do in the future.

Through prayers a man can seek Gods forgiveness of his sins, like the Prodigal Son.

Through prayers we can receive an assurance of God’s attention to our plight.

Through prayers we can expose our weaknesses to earn God’s trust and confidence.

Through prayers we can submit to God in humility to do His will in obedience.

Luke 18:1 saith “ that men ought always to pray and not to faint”. Through a fervent relationship with God in prayers- power is released for an encounter with God.

Prayers awakens our sensibilities as unctions are released in our travails in prevailing prayers.
